Aboriginals:” Hey! Here is my place, how can you stay at here and make it looks
like your own place?”
The
white:” Why you say here is yours? I came and find this place as well, and gave
it named as Australia. And I also draw a clear line of demarcation for those
place as a really city. The entire world knew this place because of my people
and me. How can you say this place must belong to you?”
The
Aboriginals:” How can you speaking such impervious to reason? My family, my ancestors
and I had lived on this land for thousands of years. We have our own set way to
solve problem in our tribal society like the law in your society. We have our
history for thousands years with our powerful race. We have our different and
brilliant cultures on this land. All the things we have and all the reason we
born are following us when my ancestors first time born on the land. Here is
our place like the ground belongs to tree’s root!”
The
white:” it’s a naked truth your old race had been here for a lot of years, but
it can be proof for you that this place is belong to you. Without any dispute
that we also have the right to live here. Your race had lived with nature and
animals for thousands of years, how can you didn’t know a rout of wild beasts
might find a new place if they were not allowed to live in their native place
by any reasons. The wild beasts would leave the place they lived before and
move miles by miles to find a new place for their home. They will not ask other
animals whether they can lived there when they find the place they want.
Because they need somewhere exist, and even multiply and be prosperous.”
The
Aboriginals:” Don’t trick me! Look at your boat, your plenty of excess luggage and
those strange things we had never saw before with your strangers! Why I should
believe you are just like an animal without home? The strangers came to my
home, and made this place looked like belong to you always, but not we had
already for 7000 years. Why you doesn’t come back where you from? I don’t have
to share my own place which I lived such a long time with some unknown
strangers, no, the aggressors! I even can’t understand that strange voice I had
never heard what you use to talking with each other, that is a language I don’t
think the language I cannot understand anything, but you are using for communication
whether is fair with me. Oh, look at your fearful magic weapons. They even hurt
my people for a really short seconds by using a oddly stick! It’s truly I don’t
know the reason of the magic, but it must be a big dangerous for my family, and
you wold broke my life.”
The
white:” Oh my God, I don’t want to talk with a dog anymore who just knows how
to bark without any new mind!”
The
Aboriginals:” The utterly detestable strangers, let me drive you away!”


William Kentridge Assessment (Presentation one)
This art work is named “Bridge”. It’s one of the sculpture ['skʌlptʃə] works creating by William Kentridge. He used metals, clay, books and light to construct a fantastic stereoscopic [,steriəu'skɔpik ]work. Audiences ['ɔ:diəns] can see different particular look when they change the point of view. The style of work is
including reality and fantasy that William is good at play with people’s image.
These work has including two parts. One part is a sculpture['skʌlptʃə] that authentically in the world. looks like some people walking on the bridge. Moreover, all of them were more contorted mass and don’t almost like a people. At the last of the bridge line is an irony tower with an improper big fan on the top.
On the other hand, the background after this work had used deep blue in the
exhibition, and the environment is quiet and darkness. The only light was come
from the top. That spotlight made a shadow of sculpture['skʌlptʃə] on the deep background wall. Furthermore, those shadows, dusky light and peaceful environment are the other parts of the “Bridge”. In the shadow, visitor can clearly see some people are walking thought a bridge as well, and there were an old and shabby tower with a fan stay on a side of bridge. Although those people looks normal, doesn’t like the real first part’s characters have deformed outline.
However, link those two parts art work, the “Bridge” is become a completely vision work
The other art work I choose is an 8:43min short animated movie named “Felix
['fi:liks] in Exlle”. It was made in 1994, and it’s one of the animated movies in a collected works named 9 Drawing for Projection, which William Kentridge made from 1989 to 2003.
The movie is also used light and shadow, black and white to show the story and
characters, but It has add a few of other substance such as sound, editing and
music.
This movie had also including two different parts to show a stereopsis [,steri'ɔpsis] work. In this part of work, there is a man who keeps a uniform greatcoat and an army cap. He is dancing with powerful steps and waving his greatcoat. However,
we can’t see anything about his face or body from the movie, because the cinema
[si:n] scene has only shoot the close-up on his shadow on the wall.
The other part is a little paper person on a black background who was made by some scarps of newspapers. He is mostly looks like that man dancing in the truly world. This part of movies is made up by a lot of photos that record the paper person every time changed dance movement. Moreover, the paper person’s dance is completely copy the man’s dance.
