My New Home

I'm in Portland, Oregon. it is a very beautiful place, a place that i can now call home for a long time. Being drafted # 1 is great but to be drafted by Portland and # 1 is the best thing in the world. I'm feeling really good right now in my life. I'm finishing off the greatest year of my life. Enough about my feelings, let me tell you about how great the place im going to be living is and representing for sometime. The summers here are the greatest thing in the world. It rarely rains in the summer, the temperature is always perfect, there is no humidity, and when there's a breeze, you can feel it. Now the winters on the other hand, that's a different story. I haven't experienced it but from what people have told me, it rains but not very hard, and not a lot at a time just slow drizzled spread out through a long time. I'm sure i'll be able to handle it. 

The people here are great, they love their Trailblazers. When i got here i went to the Rose Garden and met the staff, they all had on ODEN shirts and gave me a big welcome. I loved all of it. They showed me the video of what had happened draft night when people went crazy and stormed the court after they called my name. The staff is really cool. i cant wait to get to know all of them. After i met the staff the staff and i went to downtown Portland where they had a rally for me. There was a whole lot of people there. When i'm in interviews and i say i dont want to put a lot of pressure on myself, it is very hard when you see all of these people and the excitement they have for the Trailblazers, how they look at me as the savior. It's hard cause you want to be, to make everyone happy and just have a good time and enjoy basketball. A lot of people do not get to do that for there city or themselves. The rally was fun. i got to introduce my family. I introduced my brother first so he got all excited. He thinks he's gonna get every lady in Portland now. After the rally i went and did media, where the length of the week really hit me. I just had nothing in me, but after that i had a photo shoot, jumbo tron video and an audio voice over. Actually the guys who were doing all that stuff gave me energy so those were fun. I also got to see one of my good friends that night, Josh McRoberts. He's here with me and thats gonna make everything that much better. To be here in this great city with one of my good friends is awesome. I love it here and i'm glad to represent this city and i will do everything in my power to give this team the chance to bring back a NBA championship, and i know it will not be easy.



FIFTY TWO

People of YardBarker Nation, I'm going to tell you all first. The number I'm going to wear is 52. It's a mix of my high school and college number. So wherever I go, I hope to get 52. I know it's an ugly number but to me it's just a number, and if I do good I think one person may wear it. I know the number 20 wasn't that attractive, but as the year went on it grew on me. This one will too. One last thing, thanks LZ, ESPN, and Rachel for putting me on the cover of the magazine, making me look good, and giving me a lifetime memory of me being able to say that I was cool at one point in my life. Thank You.

Indiana Fever

Some friends and I went to a Indiana Fever game a couple of days ago. It was a new experience for me because I have never been to one before and I was told they are very good this year. The Fever was playing Phoenix, it was a very exciting game. Our seats were on the floor at half court. I got to hear and see everything. The game was exciting but it got 10 x's better when Tamika Catchings and Diana Taurasi got very aggressive with each other. I got really into the game then. Those two are very good. Diana at the end of the game just couldnt miss and they pulled away with a victory. My friends had to hold me back cause i was so into it that i almost went out on the floor. I never had a thought about the WNBA before, except when Lisa Leslie dunked the ball, which is one of my favorite dunks of all time, but if they play like that i would love to go to the games all the time. Im not a fan of watching it on tv, but i dont watch even mens basketball on tv that much. I would definitely go to all home games that i can go to. I got the chance to meet the Seattle Storm and couple of the Fever girls a couple of nights ago. They were all cool as heck, it was my pleasure to be in the same room and just converse with those ladies, who are living out their dream doing what i hope to do next year, play professional basketball. I had a good time. Ron Artest was also there with his wife and i got to say hi to him, he is a nice guy.

I am staying in Carmel, Indiana, which is north of Indianapolis. In this area lots of people know high school basketball. When you ask someone about it, the first name that pops in their minds is not Greg Oden, Michael Conley Jr., or Eric Gordon. It's JOSH MCROBERTS, one of my favorite people in the world. He is one of the funniest people I have met, and the one person in high school basketball that I dreaded playing, because I had to guard him and he is a monster. He uses both hands on the court. That gives him an edge on everybody else. He was here for a day so I got to hang out with him. It was one of the greatest days. Him and a couple of his friends and I laid out at his pool, played horse in the pool, stayed in too long, hands got wrinkled and when we got tired of being in the pool his mom came and grilled some hamburgers and teriyaki chicken with macaroni salad and cookies. It was the BOMB! Then we just chilled later on with some of his friends from high school and it was cool. The next day he left for Chicago to work out. He is a great player and I hope him well this year in the draft. I hope they invite him to go to the draft cause he will probaly have me laughing the whole night. I don't want to brag, but we were on one of the best AAU teams ever with 1. Michael Conley Jr, 2. Eric Gordon, 3. Deaquan Cook, 4. Josh McRoberts, and 5. little ol me. We also had Aaron Pouge, Curtis White, Mark Titus, Reese Cheatem, and Devin Williams coming off the bench. Those years were fun.


The End Of The Best Year Of My Life

It is the last week at The Ohio State University. It is finals week everybody is studying, trying to pass their classes. I am going to miss it so much, when September comes around next year I'll be in pre-season, and my peers will be meeting back up for another go around at this college thing. To be honest it is so much more than that. It's the place when you get fed up of being with your parents, you get to get away. It's not just the place where you recieve higher learning in school, it's where you become an adult . You get to see, do and learn things that you don't know about in high school. You meet new people everyday, people who may turn out to be life long friends. Even though I didn't live the normal college life most kids do, Ohio State is really more of a football school, which allowed me to be as normal as possible (that is until after the national championship). I will always be grateful to Columbus, OH and every Buckeye for that. I dont know when, but I will get my degree and be apart of this Buckeye Nation. I will work out with Coach Majors for the last time, have lunch with Coach Matta, and say goodbye to all my friends who are left in Columbus. I say all that's left because everyone else is ready to leave for summer but me. I'm wanting to stay for every last minute and enjoy this because you can't get it back. I'm about to be put in a man's world, letting go of that kid in me is hard.

The NBA Lottery

I was on the plane when it happened, but as soon as I landed I had 22 messages that all said "Portland 1 Seattle 2." It was a total shock to me not to be funny, but I forgot those two teams where even in the lottery. Every media news wants to know what I think but really I dont even know what to think. Im actually here in Portland right now visiting Nike and on the way here I saw mountains with snow on it, I thought to myself its May. No one knows for sure whats gonna happen but one things thats 99.9% sure, ill be in the west coast. I talked to Al Harrington from Golden State and he said its alot of fun with all the running that goes on in the west, so I should start getting in shape now. On the Lottery it was crazy but my life is about to be full of craziness compared to my teammates that are still at The Ohio State University so what a way to start it off!

扁桃体

 周六我告别我的扁桃体了。这是一个我必须做的手术。这样赛季中，我的扁桃体就不会有任何问题了。通常一年里我要有4,5次嗓子疼。上个赛季末那会最严重。我连水几乎都不能喝，一喘气就疼，我瘦了大约15磅。嗓子肿的时候连喝水都疼。我出去餐馆，然后一喝水或者吃东西时候就全身一紧，整个人跟疯了似的。手术很顺利。是在周六早上做的。45分钟的手术。他们给我打了催眠药好让我睡觉，然后我就躺在桌子上。剩下我能记住的就是，其中一张病床问什么时候开始，结果已经结束了。一点也不疼。

 然后我马上冲出医院回到酒店。回去之后我做的第一件事就是把冷气打开，然后上床。就在那迷迷糊糊5个小时之后，我醒了过来。第一晚不是那么糟糕。如果我觉得疼了，就喝些药。轻微的疼痛就会过去了。晚上吃了点通心粉（kraft mac and cheese）。第二晚我醒来的时候，我睡的地方有一滩血。那里是平时我留口水沾到的地方。我赶紧用冷水漱口止血。为了保持增重，我吃饭时候都要喝蛋白质奶昔。但是那一天，我不该喝；因为没吃多少东西，却硬着头皮喝了蛋白质奶昔，导致我的胃很难受。我狂吐。甚至来不及吐到厕所里，直接吐在洗手池里了。吐的都是昨天吃的通心粉，真恶心，不过我感觉好多了。

 除了这些插曲之外，我还不错。我的嗓子就是有些疼和干，而且现在我都能感觉的到，割掉扁桃体后结的疤，不过只要吃药就会好了。因为一般医院总是要你待两个礼拜，所以我希望他们能让我跟我妈回家，毕竟我恢复不错，再说自己在酒店房间里待一整天糟糕透了！
