                  作为额外入选的球迷最喜欢的时刻留给了草地好手,29岁才首夺大满贯的诺沃特娜

This week, in celebration of the WTA's 40th anniversary, wtatennis.com has been counting down the top moments of the last 40 years, as voted for by you, the fans.
So far, comebacks, breakthroughs and farewells have all been covered. But before revealing the No.1, we're going to have a look at the moments didn't quite make the cut.
Taking in Virginia Wade's Silver Jubilee triumph, Elena Dementieva striking gold in Beijing and Jana Novotna finally getting her hands on the Wimbledon trophy, here's your best of the rest…
Jennifer Capriati beating Martina Hingis in the Australian Open final. Coming back from being so far down in the heat, overcoming the frustration and anger and then winning. It was a riveting display. One of the very best!
                  Andrew
Elena Dementieva finally had her significant breakthrough in a career filled with instances of coming up short. One of the most consistent and technically beautiful players to watch, Dementieva was also loved for her personality and kind nature. She was one of the most likeable players of her generation. After years of heartbreak, Dementieva finally won her golden title - the Olympics in 2008. Elena played the tournament of her life, taking out Serena Williams in the quarterfinals and Dinara Safina - whom she lost to all three previous times that year, including a heartbreaking loss at the French Open - in the final. Tears of joy fell from her face. She was a champion who taught us not to give up and that if you work hard enough, you will be rewarded.
                  Daniel
My favorite WTA Moment was in September, 1985. I had my biggest joy in tennis watching the US Open final with Hana Mandlikova beating Martina Navratilova, 76 16 76, in an incredible match! These two girls were the most amazing shotmakers of all time. This match was a thriller, and Hana's happiness at the end of the match has stayed with me forever.
                  Stephan
My favourite WTA moment is when Jana Novotna won Wimbledon in 1998. After the 1993 defeat to Graf, and the manner of it, and then losing her second final a few years later, it was a perfect fairytale ending when it became third time lucky for Novotna. Her dedication and determination to win the tournament was a great tennis story, and a perfect example that if at first you don't succeed then try, try and try again.
                  Caz
One of my favorite moments was in 1991 when Jennifer Capriati beat Martina Navratilova at Wimbledon. It was an incredible match with two very different styles of play. With that win, Jennifer became the youngest player to reach the Wimbledon semifinals.
                  Oscar
My favorite WTA moment was the second set tie-breaker that Francesca Schiavone played against Sam Stosur to win the 2010 French Open. It was great to watch this girl, who had been a supporting actress for so long but who probably has the most entertaining, all-court game on tour, finally rise to the top.
                  Greg
My favorite WTA moment was Serena Williams saving match points against Kim Clijsters at the 2003 Australian Open semifinal and overcoming a 1-5 deficit to win not only the match but the tournament and complete her "Serena Slam" and write her name in the history books.
                  Luis
Amelie Mauresmo's win versus Justine Henin in the 2006 Wimbledon final. It was a nice way to stop people talking about her nerves, especially winning 6-4 in the third!
                  Oliver
My favorite WTA moment was Marion Bartoli stunning World No.1 Justine Henin in the Wimbledon 2007 semifinals. Facing heavy skepticism of her training techniques, she went against the odds, and showed how far pure determination and hard work can get you.
