抑郁症比较常用的分类标准有以下三种，依据疾病的某些特征，按照规则将疾病分门别类，并用编码的方法来表示的系统。
　　1、CCMD-3，中国精神病症诊断标准（The Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders ），分类兼顾病因病理学分类和症状学分类。
　　2、ICD-10，国际疾病分类（international Classification of diseases ）。
　　3、DSM-IV，诊断与统计手册：精神障碍（Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders）
