Here is the monthly Ring Clock update.
Size checker rings
We have sent all of the size checker plastic rings. Many of you have already received them. It is a simple priority mail which usually arrives all over the world within 5-8 working days. Therefore if you don't receive it before 11th July please let us know by an email to info@ringclock.net.
Manufacturing progress
Our project in this manufacturing phase depends more and more on our components (LEDs, battery, PIC …) manufacturers and their distributors. We should have received all of the ring electronic components in June having ordered them 2 months ago from one of the biggest distributors in US.
We have received the following updates from the distributor:
- PIC microcontroller (it is the brain of the ring): the manufacturer can deliver all of them but only in August
- LEDs: 1/3 of the LEDs will arrive in August
3 months instead of the promised 5-6 weeks in the quote - we have tried to find hidden stocks all over the world (by shortage management company), but so far our efforts have not been successful.
Battery
Our happiness did not last long after the arrival of the second batch custom batteries - they have worked (video in the last update), but they started to die after a week. We are in a daily working connection with the manufacturer in order to solve the problem - the next batch will arrive in the next few days. We hope that the manufacturer will deliver perfect batteries for the day when we will receive the PIC components too.
Estimated delivery time
Our assembly companies need 4-6 weeks - after the components arrive - to start the delivery of Ring Clocks. We hope we will receive the PICs, LEDs and batteries at the beginning of August and we can start to deliver your Ring Clock in September.
It is a month delayed again :( - Please try to spend this time with a nice holiday whilst we will work on the project continuously.
