I used to like English very much, when I was young, at 9-year-old or so. The first time I get touch with English, “Wired but interesting!” I thought. There were only some simple words and sentences, ”Hello!” ”Good morning!” ”Bye ！“And I couldn’t forget the first time I remembered a long word ”teacher”. ”T-E-A-C-H-E-R!”I was so excited that as if I’m a hero and the whole world should applause forme. I used to play a lead role in a English drama《why the rabbit’s ears are so long?》,of course I was that rabbit and that experience made me a little fan for English. Searching the dictionary for one wordto describe my English learning experience in primary school, I think it is ”happy”.
But things change gradually with time going by, my middle school teacher attached high importance to English grades,rather than English learning. So I recited words and phrases, read English textbook again and again, paid more attention to vocabulary and grammar,and did exercise one after another. Through endless repeating, of course myEnglish grades was higher and higher, but I gradually lost interest in English.At that time, we saw English only as a guarantee to enter a higher scale school.But for me, do I like it as before? I’m afraid not.
I passed the college entrance examination and now I’m here, if you ask me the feeling about English, I’ll just say ”not bad.” One day it influences my grades, I can’t seeit in a peaceful way. One day our English teacher push me hard to study, of course I know it will help to improve my English level, I can’t see it in a peaceful way. One day English takes on with pressure and restraint, I can’t see it in a peaceful way. And if I can’t see it in a peaceful way, I can’t fall in deep love with it, it will only exist as a kind of means which may influence my whole
life. No pure study, no pure love.
