A translation from a fragment of t.A.T.u.’s short film from Elena Kiper’s “Music Without Makeup” project:
-”What are you plans for the future? Do you have any thoughts?”
-”I will be doing solo work either way…if we can think of something to do together we can do something. I am not against it.”
-”I understand, I have a solo project, you do too. Regarding t.A.T.u., do you have any ideas? How do you see it?”
-”We have to work because it’s clear that we aren’t used to it.”
-”To each other?”
-”Yes.”
-”And in general, or being together…on stage?”
-”The state of being together on stage.”
—
She rejected me. I called her to wish her a happy birthday when she was in Moscow. I said to her,
-“Lena, maybe we can go somewhere?”
-“I don’t know, I have so much going on. If there is time we’ll go out. I am flying out soon. I don’t know what’s going on now.”
That’s it.
—
-“Can you see us together?”
-“Well…I have not been dependent on anyone for a long time, and to be frank I do not want to be.”
-“I also like not being dependent. What we had was honestly cool.”
-“Of course it was great, Julia. But then it started: the lateness, you not being able to come to the shooting, cancelling the concert. I am a responsible person and I have a lot of doubt.”
-“Why are you so frozen. Do you really not want it?”
-“Who said I don’t want it? I just…I don’t know. I am open to offers, please.”
-“I am making you an offer now.”
-“What?”
-“t.A.T.u.”
-“You can talk to my manager if you’d like.”
-“Listen, you don’t have any passion at all.”
-“What does passion have to do with it? We have to do our thing and there is a lot of work. You know how it is - work, work work.”
-“But, it’s lonely. I need us.”
