In season 2, episode 19, there were a couple who claimed to love each other so deeply that they decided to get into marriage. But at the moment the man who was supposed to become a husband in the very near future was taking the surgery, the woman who was supposed to be accompaning left.
And then in the next episode, there were another couple who were married already. The wife had some kind of cancer. Though she wanted to live on her life, the facts disappointed her once and once again that all she wanted to do was to spend the last part of her life with her husband alone, doing anything she liked or they liked, without being bothered by the thought that she might die or she might survive. And her husband just stayed with her, supporting all her decisions, and never going away.
This is life. In life, every thing could be possible, literally every thing. The only indetermincy is just which condision you will meet.

I feel that Grey's Anatomy is more like a reduction of the real world. When watching it, sometimes we see us, sometimes we see our friends, other times we see our pain in the ass, and we may also se the way we want to live and the way we want to evade.
What had happend to us can never change anymore, but some of the things that will happen to us are up to our decisions. If you chose to stay, you may receive a healthy husband and a dreamy wedding. If you chose to leave, you may feel guilty all your life. You just don't know what will happen, but you still have a chance.
When you see the ideal way experienced by others, I guess you get the chance to make the right decisions when you meet one in the future.
