I thought it was a point gained. We had the best of the first half, went a goal up but we needed a second.
We knew Newcastle would come back at us in the second half, they made it difficult and they got the penalty, it was a soft one in my opinion.
I don't think he [Malbranque] made contact, I think he stubbed the ground but we can't do anything about it, you have to abide by it.
The other way, the referee could have sent [Phil] Bardsley off for a tackle late on.
Overall, I'm pleased to come here and get a point.
Djibril [Cisse] is OK - we took him off, but it was just precautionary and he should be OK for Saturday.
Kenwyne [Jones] has got a couple of knocks but credit to him, he got up and carried on.
[Michael] Chopra did everything right - his touch was good, he's opened the goal up and you'd expect him to slot it away but he's elected to play it square and he was heavy with the pass.
Strikers are normally greedy there. I wish he had been greedy and taken a shot.
This is a big game and I was pleased we came here and got something.
I thought Kieran and Deano did well in the first half but Newcastle tightened it up in the second. We were under pressure at times in the second half but we were resilient.
The game opened up again at the end and we had the best two chances.
It's a difficult place to come. It was a good, open game and a draw was a fair result.
