Everton named surprising suitors for £3.6 million Inter Milan ace
Everton thinking about Inter Milan forward Edin Dzeko
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Dzeko is looking at his options. Inter have already received approaches from Italian giants Juventus but they immediately rejected the offer. Serie A sides Monza and Napoli are also keen on the Bosnian forward.
However, it’s not only Italian sides showing interest. Even though there are no offers from abroad, it has been reported that offers could arrive from England and Germany. In England, Everton, Wolves and Leicester City are said to be thinking about signing the 36 year old. Everton have been named surprise suitors for the former Manchester City striker.
Even though at 36, Dzeko if aging like fine wine, he isn’t a long term solution. Everton want to build a young team hungry to prove themselves on the main stage and while having experienced players is important, the club cannot jeopardize the vision. Almost all the players that Everton have strongly been linked to, like Morgan Gibbs-White, Broja, and Conor Gallagher are less than 25 years old, clearly indicating the idea of Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell.
The Bosnian is well settled in Italy and if he is to leave Inter, his likely preference will be to stay in Italy at this stage of his career. There are better, younger and more compatible options available in the market and Everton should be pursuing them instead of Dzeko. Undoubtedly, the former AS Roma striker is still scoring goals at an impressive rate but he cannot be a part of a long term plan at Goodison Park.
