Hello,
I just changed my old kobo aura for the new kobo libra 2.
I have problems with the battery. I don't have the promised weeks of autonomy. I read about 4 or 5 hours a day and my e-reader discharges in a few days.
I don't use wifi and my ebooks are transferred by caliber in kepub format. The first update is well installed.
Is this normal? My Aura was better (several weeks of autonomy) and now I'm a little disappointed.
Should I send it back for an exchange? Or is it a software issue ?
Thank you for your help.
Answer:
The battery is probably fine. Kobo readers (I have the Clara HD and the Libra 2, among others) are notorious for underreporting the battery-life remaining for the first few discharge cycles, until the device "learns" the capacity. Just let it ACTUALLY run down once or twice (turn off the go-to-sleep timer and leave the ebook reader on) and then fully recharge it, and the meter should be accurate.
THANKS:
Thanks for answers, it reassures me. I'm going to do some full discharge to see if it makes a difference.
To give more concrete figures, yesterday, after a full charge, I had a discharge of 10% for 3h30 of reading.
But I noticed a bug in the reading statistics. Yesterday I was at 11.6 hours of reading on my ebook and this morning it went to 10.6 hours.
