1976 年 Apple Computer 公司成立時,   大家腦力激盪, 仍然想不出完美的公司名稱,

後來創辦人 Steve Jobs 認為, 蘋果是一種完美的水果, 有營養, 不容易壞,

一天一蘋果, 疾病遠離我
他希望他的公司能和蘋果一樣的完美, 就決定以 Apple 定案.

還有一種說法是, 因為想不出來, 就翻電話簿來參考,   "電腦分類區" 所列的第一家公司是 Atari,
Jobs 就決定以 Apple 命名, 因為它的英文排序在 Atari 的上面

所以就決定以 Apple 當做公司名稱.
最早的 Logo 是一顆完整的蘋果.

後來被偷咬一口
是 Apple II 時代才出現
原因有好幾種說法 详情见下边

1. Taking a "Bite" of the Apple, 這個 Bite ( 咬 ) 與 Byte 是諧音,
算是一個冷笑話吧.

可以看到牛頓坐在蘋果樹下看書, 還有 "Byte into an Apple" 的字樣...

2. 引含有 "擷取" 知識的意思 ( 據說是聖經裡的典故, 這個我也不清楚 )（亚当和夏娃？）

3. 因為一代的完整大蘋果常被誤認為是蕃茄, 改成咬一口看起來比較像蘋果

4. 最初蘋果的 Logo 右邊會緊鄰著 "apple" 的一串文字, 這個字母 a 會和 logo 重疊一部份, 把字母 "a" 拿掉, 就造成弧形的缺口咬痕
