[Cool North September] Our North's September is cool, as we have a two power balace in a pool, in a way dynamic and skillful. North gusts blow toward deep autumn, but when the south wind comes, summer flavor lingers as a gum.
We cherish a sky high blue, we watch clouds-flying flows that drift light and slow. We enjoy the air refreshing, and an upcoming festival we are anticipating that sparks a rush of missing.
. [School Bell Chiming] Authored by MooreYuan. 2 Sep 2024. . That school bell chimes in heart Comforting all the thanksful students Always as if in presence heard Who travel anywhere around And could anchor themselves By this special sweet sound . The ringing awakens stickability Awakens our love of beauty Awakens our own rhymic beauty Across a vast human forest We search enchanting notes But we find that bell is best .
Anchor/anchoring stands for a key concept of language in the eyes of modern linguists. This is greatly emphasized in a Functional Grammar book written by Halliday. Then, I picked it instead of the traditional wording.
Then, the bell-ringing could become a school logo. Of course it'd better be designed to carry significances more than an alarm or just a sound as an order. At least it sounds sort of melodious, rather than noise.
This is no joking at all. Everyone can recall the ugly ringing and the sweetest one they ever experienced as a student. Everyone may pick their own favorite probably. But, there is a big difference indeed.
The three children of my colleague, neighbor, friend are now in Tsinghua, Renmin and Tongji Universities respectively. They have begun their new school term in the mid-August. LOL.
. [Little Wutong Trees] . Authored by MooreYuan 2 Sep 2023. 【去年写的 】 . Little sycamore saplings grow In a new garden in neat rows A place full of the lotus aroma And the evergreen heroic vigor In the deep forest over yonder . The trees, lush and aglow Grow quite long and slow But they'll go toward towering Through a joyful learning Under the gardeners' nourishing .
A new grade, a new classroom, and new teachers. But the bell ringing must be old, regular, and common as before, though some always want the new, try to reform everything. We can't change or reform our anchor(s) frequently; We can't change the locations of those little trees before they "rest" for quite a while.
The same applies to our language learning to latch onto something. So the nob is to know well how to anchor one and change another, or how to kick but not on the bucket.
