Deftones picked up their touring schedule by drafting in Sergio Vega, formerly of Quicksand, and heading back into the studio for an album largely free of sonic manipulation and extensive studio tinkering, trademarks since earlier efforts like 2000's White Pony. The resulting record picked up generous praise from both critics and fans, as Last.fm listeners catapulted the album's title track straight to the top of the band's chart, earning a colossal 570,000 scrobbles. The exposure the duo received via Blakroc and their collaboration with producer Danger Mouse proved to be a huge boost when they delivered Brothers to an expanded fanbase in May, hitting #3 in the Billboard chart. New track 'Tighten Up' became the band's most scrobbled track ever, now standing at over 676,000 plays.
