{ Gallery I }Fantasy, especially fairies has always characterized my work as an artist. I am striving to get beyond being "the teacup fairy lady" a design for which Susan Snodgrass and I were world renowned. There is always the temptation to make one and occasionally they show up in my work. The Fairies have always been the thing that people responded to, I think it's because they awaken a part inside of you that needs to be awakened.
    Recently I have been on
    a journey to discover a
new expression while continuing to create dolls
    that awaken the joy,
spirit and imagination of childhood. I am exploring newly awakened feelings
    of romance, sensuality,
    power and passion in
    my current work. 我懒,不翻译了

{ Gallery II }Most of the pieces
you see here were commissioned or have
been sold. I'm happy to discuss commissions,
with the proviso that whilst I can make something very similar
to a particular doll, it's impossible to make something identical. Limited Editions will vary slightly from piece to piece...that is of course the nature and beauty of handwork.

{ Miniatures I }I have always been drawn to small things. I think because I was always the smallest one in my class. As a child I would spend hours in the woods playing with fairies and fashioning little plates and cups from tiny acorns. I like making things in miniature because it draws you into my world and can be intimate and mesmerizing.
My Babes in the Woods and Autumn's Harvest series breaks with the tradition of using fabric and utilizes natural materials. Lichens for hair and clothing, acorns for hats and cicadas for wings. Some have their own little wooden chairs and beds.

{ The Kiss }Inspired by Gustav Klimt's scintillating painting,The Kiss, my Kiss Couple proved to to be one of my most technically challenging, yet rewarding creations. The male and female figures are sculpted individually, then molds are made of each. Porcelain casts of the two figures were joined and re-sculpted to reflect the intimate mood of the lovers.
A set of 9 different molds of body parts is cast, carefully
re-sculpted together, refining the details; this is fired as one piece. The most tedious part is the cleaning, which too often results in breakage... leading to great frustration, and taking me back to the
                  9-mold stage.
The costuming requires meticulous historical research, and an intense quest for the perfect fabrics and trims (which I often have to MAKE "perfect"). The
result of the first Kiss Couple: Renaissance Romance, opened my imagination to endless possibilities:
                  King & Queen of Hearts,
18th Century French, Medieval, etc. I try to make one couple each year, based on famous, infamous, or fascinating lovers.
