做个总结吧:
The poet presents two perspectives by two well-structured stanzas which seem to mirror each other. Although these are not fundamentally opposing views, many binary oppositions are apparent: inside (the house) / outside, warmth / cold, dark (dusk) / bright, anxiety / contentment and innocence / sophistication. While there may be misunderstandings on the boy's side, the two "animate" objects are connected by their attempts to feel for each other. The fear, however, is that one side is eager to impose his values and beliefs on the other one (e.g. with the boy bringing the snowman into the house, if feasible) and thereby resulting in irrecoverable damage. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
